    Chargemaster drifting weights

Just built into the process, the rhythm. A good balance that is on a very solid vibration free surface zeros really fast as well.

    Chargemaster drifting weights

Yes, zero every drop. I have spent a lot of time on a balance and that is how I've always done it and that is how everyone I've worked with does it.

    Chargemaster drifting weights

The standard practice with even very expensive scientific balances is to zero the balance for every weighing.

Sig Sauer KILO3K battery draw - what the heck???

I had 2 and they both did it, I can't tell you more than that. Customer service or the rangefinder tech did not suggest the battery saver. I've moved on and don't have one to fiddle with, so I can't be of much help. T

Sig Sauer KILO3K battery draw - what the heck???

In the late fall I bought a Sig KILO 3K. I've owned a fair number of range finders (couple Nikons, Bushnell, and a couple Sigs) and bought the Sig KILO 3K to replace a Sig KILO 2000 (that I really liked) that the auto brightness on the display crapped out at 5 years and a couple months. This...

    Bullet choice for... Squirrels.

For pest control the CCI segmented rounds work very well. They have "Segmented Quiet", which are really slow, but they are quiet and hit hard. They also have "Segmented Subsonic", which are very accurate in my tikka. They do a lot of damage and kill quickly. For pest control these would be my...

A man, a wolf, and stupid in public

The anti-predator hunting crew considers any killing of wolves as an tragedy. Are they any more offended by this than killing than typical trapping or hunting? I'm sure they are excited that their PR machine has grist for its mill. I like how Ucsdryder put it above, but I'd edit a bit... put me...

Trichinosis, be honest, have you gotten it?

There are only a dozen (or so) cases a year. It is pretty rare.

A man, a wolf, and stupid in public

I could see after catching wolf that you would get a hankering for a slaw dog and a beer.

    Tired of the Pigeons

Set up a discrete bait station and trap them. Shooting is more fun to think about, but a trap works all day every day vs occasional shooting bouts. There are good live traps that can catch multiples and they will keep coming.

    Kid on an Extended Hunt

A 10 day mountain hunt is too much for most adults. I've done it, but with my wife along. I'd never recommend it unless your kid was a real special kid (and you would only know that if you had the kid in that situation already (which you haven't)).

Dream hunts a 20 year old should build points for?

Ideally, he should be waiting for new tags to come out to start building points on. Some that will be available in the next few years: SD pheasant tag, WY yellow-bellied marmot stamp, Montana feral pigeon tag, Colorado cottontail nonresident tag, and Nevada ground squirrel. ;)

Why is it so hard to get my scope level?

All the more reason to do it yourself! You run into few scientist-artists behind gunshop counters.

    fish recipes

After divorce, the above would be my choice with a little twist combining the fish taco with the spice coating like blackening. Put garlic in a bowl and toss with fish to coat. Add chili powder, some cumin, bunch of salt and toss to coat. Finally a dusting of flour before frying. This makes a...
