    UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

Didn't read page 8-31 so pardon if the discussion is already over, but surely some of you have done a hearing test/ pure tone audiometry? Sound frequency Hz has a huge impact on how you perceive same dB strenght

Fishnet base layers. They work, and you want them.

The arctic studies at University of Tromsø used to have a good research paper in the public domain; I could not find it right now. To heat and dry moisture on your skin requires an inordinate amount of energy compared to just staying dry/drier. In a coastal saltwater climate even worse. In the...

@PathFinder it's a bit more difficult to get into that fetish club with a mesh; it looks too ordinary compared to net. 🙈 I find that mesh holds more water, so I sometimes take it off to dry. Not a problem with net.

Aclima, Devold, Brynje, Janus. I'll take any one if the price is right and usually buy whatever is available at the end-of-season sales. These garments have gone from "army utility" to "in-the-know fashion" and prices 3x

Not at all. Yes! I wear a woolnet tshirt, a thin woolmesh crewneck (smaller holes) and on top a hoodie; this one made for winter trail running

Here's where fishnets are stellar. Temps drop towards -10°C in the morning, significantly warmer in the sun but well below freezing. I'm wearing woolnet x2, a wicking layer and windbreaker. Note how I don't need my puffy for glassing as I'm basically dry

    Single Shot + Mountains (THLR)

Latest film on same theme. Nothing spectacular, but a demonstration how the practice yields palpable results

Here's a film. I believe he arrives at 20% more insulation (or rather, 20% less power spent to maintain temperature) and superior ventilation after measuring it on a mannequin in a freezer.

Sitka Mountain Evo had been almost spot on for what I do. My only complaint is that the hood is far too open on the forehead, and that is at times downright uncomfortable/painful. But at least the hood stays on in wind, unlike my Kuiu. And the hood is sewn on seperate from the collar, which...

That's where I'd put my own money; sadly Sitka hasn't sorted their international distribution so I'm relegated to "free shipping" options on Amazon. I bought a Kuiu Superdown Light for that role, but it's been horrible and essentially a piece of textile trash (no way to arrest heatloss, hood...

I'd say a little on the small size. I'm a slim XL (Arcteryx sizing) or XL T (Sitka sizing) and my XL Brynje is a tad tight. I sent one to @Antares and I believe his sizing was a bit tight too. I'm not really a fan of the poly in cold weather, but early autumn (approaching freezing) they work...

My mountain rifle is getting walnut…

Respect! That tool requires a lot more discipline than mine. Must be very rewarding. This was the most significant part of the recent patina You're right and please don't! The drilled hole was a mistake and I really regret doing it. The idea was lightweight/silent attachments/quickrelease via...
