    as.ks.ak Sewing Projects Thread.

So I recently went Oryx hunting and I kept throwing my Really Right Stuff Tripod in the back of the pickup. A light went off in my head... my tripod is worth more than the truck I am hunting out of, and it's only a matter of time that those legs get banged up. So when I got home I sewed up...

    as.ks.ak Sewing Projects Thread.

So I went from sewing Ripstop material.. directly to sewing canvas strap to heavy Cordura. The ONLY thing that I changed was my thread type. Other than that the Janome HD3000 automatically adjusted the tension. Before I bought this machine I did a ton of research & used several other...

    as.ks.ak Sewing Projects Thread.

Just an FYI - I run a Janome HD3000. The machine is absolutely incredible for running almost any type of material through it... from lace to cordura. There is a video on Youtube showing a guy sewing denim to cloth and then to tissue paper... all without lifiting the presser foot. There are...

    Boot fit issues. Need suggestions

Lukotape is awesome. another great option is to go to a podiatrist. I too have foot issues and my podiatrist addressed some underlying issues and then actually made some custom inserts that have my boots fitting to the point my legs will give out before a ever get a blister

    Boot fit issues. Need suggestions

You can try things like wearing a liner sock under your regular socks… so the friction occurs between your outer sock and the liner… or putting on some moleskin as a proactive measure. but ultimately the best solution is as “wildwilderness” suggested.

Any experience with "Western Outdoor Adventures"?

I have done guided hunts for Antelope and Mule deer with Western Outdoor Adventures. That being said, I can tell you that historically the area does not produce big bulls. The area is more about quanitiy versus quality. Hence the reason why the tags are realtively easy to draw.

    Hunting/skinning knife

I had somewhat of a similar situation… after my father-in-law passed away he had a bunch of old bastard files no one wanted. I took them home and they sat in a drawer for years. I finally sent them out to have knives made out of them. Now that his grandkids got into hunting I gave each one of...

Why the heck am I getting swipe marks on my brass

I measured each piece of brass after resizing and none of the ones that I reloaded needed to be trimmed. I am away from my reloading log so I don’t have those figured in front of me but I based that information off of the Hornandy reloading manual.

Why the heck am I getting swipe marks on my brass

So the issue did not happen when chambering loaded factory and then ejecting the upshot round. I will verify if this holds true with the reloads

MT257 - did he send the gun back?… or did he just deal with it?

Why the heck am I getting swipe marks on my brass

I’ll see if those marks occur when chambering factor round and not firing them. And Kindo brings up some good points as well. I can tell you that the shoulders are pushed back .003”… they are not jammed into the lands, and there is no unexpected resistance when chambering and closing the bolt...

Why the heck am I getting swipe marks on my brass

So I guess that leads to another questions. If your brass is showing the type of pressure that you saw in the picture above, would you not consider any of these loads safe and viable? Because the 56.5 grains is consistently shooting light out. Several 3 shot groups were shot and all were...

Why the heck am I getting swipe marks on my brass

No lube on the brass. Shoulders bumped .003" (I tried .002) but they averaged .003" Bullet is off the lands. I am thinking that I'll have to try some different brass. I guess I would have thought that I would have seen more profound changes in the brass or heavier bolt as worked up in powder...
