I highline overnight, but I use an elec fence for them to graze. I also use the AN20 charger like someone pictured above. Runs off two D cell batteries and they last forever and it hits pretty hard. I have some of the cheap fiberglass rods and I cut them into thirds for easier packing and use...
This is actually correct. My youngest son had an issue come up last year between the app deadline and the draw and couldn’t go. Notified them before the tag payment deadline he couldn’t use the tag. His points were returned, he didn’t gain a point, and of course was not refunded for the app fee...
You probably figured it out but a specific address isn’t necessary and not really possible. We bring horses to Colorado and on the health certificate my vet just lists the name of the area I’m heading to. (white river NF, marron bells WA, etc).
I use the easy boots back country model. Absolutely no issues whatsoever so far. if you will measure the hoofs right after a fresh trim, they will tell you what size you need based on your trim schedule. You can upload the pictures on their website.

We only take the stock we are riding and the same gear as if we were walking.
There are definitely benefits to having the additional gear that dedicate pack animals can carry, but it’s just mostly just creature comforts. Nothing wrong with that. The trade off is more animals to tend to as less...
We put all our freeze drieds into ziploc freezer bags the night before heading out. They keep fine and the freezer bags are microwave safe so they do perfectly fine when you dump the boiling water in them. Less hassle than dealing with the packaging the meals come in.
I use mayatex wool blankets underneath wool pads. I am not particular on the pad brand. I have southwest equine, weaver, professionals choice, reinsman, and oxbow pads. I don’t have any overly expensive ones, but the pads aren’t cheap regardless of brand. The wool blankets help keep the pads...
