Reduced 308 Loads Worth the Effort?

We've always used standard LRP and shoot them out of 18" barrels without any problems.

Reduced 308 Loads Worth the Effort?

H4895 is THE powder for reduced loads. I've been loading 150 gr round nose bullets down to 30-30 levels in a few family members 308s. Very mild recoil and effective out to 200 yards.

    Older, reliable, 3rd vehicle?

We had a 2009 AWD Explorer. It had 120,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. Other than routine maintenance, the only thing I had to do is have the alternator rebuilt after it sat for a year during COVID. The only reason I got rid of it is because we live in the snow belt and they put a lot of...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Yet another data point with the 77 gr. tmk. Shot a large whitetail doe yesterday quartering to. Bullet went through ball joint in front shoulder, through the heart, and stopped just under the hide on the off side. Irish setter boots

Wore a pair of non insulated elk trackers on my first archery elk hunt. The rocks and deadfall cut the leather on the toe and despite them being well broke in and comfortable hunting in the east, they hurt my feet every day in the mountains. I picked up a pair of Schnees beartooths for my next...

    Budget Rokslide Special

I should also mention after reading Forms thread about the Howa ultralight, I wanted to test the mini and slammed the bolt closed as hard as I could about a dozen times. The sear held without any problems on this one.

    Budget Rokslide Special

For loads, I had a bunch of bulk Lake City green tip fmj ammo that I sorted into 3 piles; 1 for brass that was really banged up and dented, 1 that was "moderately" dented, and 1 that was minimally dented. I pulled the bullets from the moderately and minimally dented piles and loaded 20 of the...
