Have cancer. Going to Seattle for medical reasons. Fishing? Hiking tidbits?

Thanks so much! Yeah I already did 11 months of chemo but it wasn't hardcore shotgun approach chemo. It was a very targeting drug and I had almost zero side effects. Now to prep me for BMT they WILL chemo me hard for a few days to delete my white blood cells and any left over cancer. Transplant...

Have cancer. Going to Seattle for medical reasons. Fishing? Hiking tidbits?

Thanks so much guys! The support is always overwhelming and needed for sure but we are doing quite well considering. Yes I will be at the Fred Hutch Center. And we have a friend helping find us an apartment that is close enough. We do have a great support system of many wonderful friends so...

Have cancer. Going to Seattle for medical reasons. Fishing? Hiking tidbits?

Oh, I'll be going soon here in April and be there thru the summer into Sept maybe oct. Is there any steelhead runs that fall into this window? Maybe on the Olympic peninsula? I'm sure there's some summer fish around. Again I haven't done too deep on this stuff but will

Have cancer. Going to Seattle for medical reasons. Fishing? Hiking tidbits?

So I have to go to Seattle for a bone marrow transplant. I have cutaneous t cell lymphoma. (an extremely rare type) I just finished 10 months of targeted chemo and am in remission but this is an aggressive disease that likes to come back. I'm 44 with 6 kids , 14 years to 11 months. I'll be...

    Hunting suppressor

No I haven't pursued it further yet. Still have barrel life on the 300 PRC.

Your choice of cartrige for Thermal Rifle

I'd be thinking fast and flat for thermal use. Even most daytime calling for preds. I love my 22 CM but I'd just load it with something in the 50-60 grain range. Same with a 6 cm/243, light fast and flat since nighttime ranging doesn't really work right? And wind/bc really isn't a factor 400...

    Long Range Rifle Questions

Why are you comparing the Tikka ctr? Just curious. I'd much rather grab a T3X stainless for even less $ and weight. And make changes I see fit. Like cut to 16" and put a Rokstok on it eventually. I shoot the factory stock just fine tho.

    Vivo forest tracker esc durability

Maybe I missed it but is anyone using a seam sealer of some sort on the stitching to help keep water out? I've had ok results with sno seal but I make sure I bring at least one change of socks even on just a day hunt. I definitely get soaked in damp grass etc. Dryer snow is fine although the...

    fish recipes

Lake trout Kokanee salmon, springer chinook, coho salmon are my favorites. I usually grill they fairly simply often with a lemon pepper seasoning and don't over cook. They are a richer fish with lots of good fat for ya. A recent way favorite way is simply coat em in mayo(I know?) , season with...

    Favorite National Park

Grew up going to isle royale on fishing trips and camping at the dock/shelters so that holds a special place for me. Even worked out there a bit, taking down a water tower etc. one fall. Live near glacier now and it's an amazing place also but so busy and I'd much rather do my hiking where I can...

    Shorty Hunting Rifle Chambering?

22, 6 or 6.5 Creed will do it and be much easier to shoot well than 308 or 338 fed. 140 eldm from my 16.5 inch 6.5 stays above 1800 fps to a bit over 700 yards. Vast majority of my shots will be well inside that so I'm golden. My daughter dropped a nice muley at 475 with it and son got his first...

    Zip off base layers?

The kuiu peleton 97 is all I use anymore. I have the merino one also but they don't stretch and move as nice as the 97, but they are the mid weight ones , not the lightest weight. Maybe even 200? weight ones. Not sure, I just use those under my waders now. And sometimes for work.

    Build me a custom rifle

6.5 prc is more than adequate. That from UM on a lightened Tikka, with a factory contour barrel at 18" with contour for threads for a suppressor. And all bedded in a Rokstock is what I would do. Actually I would probably choose a 6 Creed for myself. For every critter 700 and in.

    Rail or not? Tikka Superlight

I would not use a rail unless your running out of elevation with your set up. Get unknown munitions Tikka rings. Degrease and locktite everything.
