Tipis (no stove) and sheep hunts (the good, the bad and everything in between)

Not apples to apples, however, we just ran a Redcliff on a ridge top hunt with 3 guys (w stove). I felt like I could agree that locating an area to appropriately pitch (flat, dray, etc ) could impact ability to get out of wind. In high wind and rain events, Redcliff was fine but a bit more...

    Outstanding hunt w/ Tok Air

We likely met on a staging strip as you were headed out, our group was headed in. Couldn’t agree more with your experience with Zach. He did a fantastic job all around for us as well. Except a spork that’s went missing! Now seeing the activity in and around staging strips etc., it makes a...

    Italy/ Europe

My brother in law just returned from his station here with the 173rd. As other mentioned, you’ll be traveling all over Europe where you will have hunting opportunities via relationships made but I do not believe there is any legal hunting in Italy. PM if you’d like his contact for further info...

RV camping around Yellowstone in November?

Second Yellowstone Hotsprings, however, I’m uncertain if they sustained damage from flood. The north entrance (if open from flood damage) to Cooke city is open 365 days a year. I just did this trip but in early March (interior of park closed). Plan to stay in Gardiner and enter thru north...

Bivy sack vs nest in Seek Outside shelter

While not necessarily on same train of thought, bivy helps shed condensation/rain/runoff. Just ran bivy in Redcliff in AK, we were blessed with good weather for AK, but glad I had it the nights it poured. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fly in outfitters

OP you may want to do your own research on Tok Air. Seems to fit what you are looking for if you can get comfortable with doing business with him. I believe the courts decisions from his run in with 40 mile, were in his favor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Sitka Jetstream Layering

As other have said, old version wasn’t cut to layer well under. Order size up if you are in between sizes or plan to layer more than merino. Your plan will work great, with WY and air temp you can regulate w pit zips etc. reminder it has DWR so good in light precipitation/snow. Sent from my...

How far was your average sheep shot?

Impressive number of sheep killed by participants in this thread! Sample size 1- dall, 428 yards Could’ve rushed a shot ~110 yard range before they wind swirled and they moved up the hill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Camper Shell - Windoors or no?

Would strongly suggest. As others, access to dogs and coolers etc. makes worth every penny. Mine on super duty, could not access back back 60% of bed without climbing in without Windoors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your input--give me your advice on picking a hunt to do

I'd highly suggest Africa, South Africa or Namibia, as best place to start. You may need to look at expanding your budget 25% or so, but it will be worth it in the long run. Fly Delta to Minn>Atlanta> JoBurg, likely outfitter will pick you up there. You will see more game species in 5 days there...

    Lasik vs PRK Surgery

LASIK- frankly got in young and didn’t know much on options. My wife had -8.25 and got it a year after I did, each of us would do it 10x over. Money well spent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
