    NV Archery Antelope tag

Oh yeah.....and there are lots of Mormon Crickets this year. As creepy as it gets. Another reason not to sit in a blind at lower elevations! https://photos.app.goo.gl/Bf7Xhck6uKKS4xFQ6

    NV Archery Antelope tag

At this point dryer weather may be better to concentrate the animals as there will always be some springs, etc. that persist through the summer. The less water running freely down creek beds the better. The mountains present a lot of different angles, so it's not a perfect N/S/E/W thing. Any...

    NV Archery Antelope tag

I was in the areas south of 031 last weekend doing some deer scouting, and then drove by 031 on the way home. In the mountains that I scouted the creeks and water holes were pretty healthy, and the slopes were greener than usual. Lots of thunderstorms had and were moving though. In units...

    Trout Creeks Oregon Deer

Since 1997 it's been a draw hunt for archery, and Traditional only for about 20 years. In recent years the tag number was unlimited, or high enough be available as a 2nd choice draw. This year they've reduced the tag numbers to accommodate about the number of typical first choices in the past...

    Nevada Unit 35 Archery Deer

I think that Bloody Run is a waste of your time, as there are few deer. You'll be better off in the main Jackson Mtns, north of the Trout Cr Rd, exactly as the hunter info sheet says. Many drainages on the north and west sides have good habitat, but require walking to hunt them well.

    2020 Goats!

Made a tough call on opening morning. Didn't expect to find a shooter in the first 20 minutes, and thought I'd be hunting for a few days. He's a good buck and I'll be happy to have him on the wall.

    Mule deer?

I don't see anything, in particular, that would allow one to know exactly from the pictures. It's very likely that he's a hybrid because your region has so much crossover. His size, while really nice, is not big enough to dictate Mulie. I live in Clackamas County 20 miles east of I5 and I have...

Tricks for walking on crunchy ground

I've had many a successful stalk on gravel/rock/stickers by wearing soft camo pants, doubled up socks without shoes, and crab crawled with my bow on my chest. Even in situations where I could see the buck's face the entire stalk you have to be incredibly slow and patient. I've taken from noon...

    Unit 63 in WY

LOL....I agree with the pink tutu comment. I hunted 69 last year and had to make a game out of not shooting the first dozen or so I found. I still tagged out by 9AM. Watch for the prickly pear cactus! Very low sage and very dry. Terrain is your friend.

Ruby 101-109 Early Archery Hunt Advice

I've done the 102 backpack hunt 3 times. I honestly don't think you need to "scout" unless you want to do a four or five day Ruby Crest Trail hike for the fun and learning. Everything you need to know is on the internet and on Google Earth. As has been said, there's pressure even far in....some...

    Oregon Whitehorse unit 68

You will kind find a little agriculture in the unit, but not very much as it really is mostly jackrabbit country. Pivot near hilly BLM = opportunity. I just don't know how much pressure

    Oregon Whitehorse unit 68

Well, all the deer are in the controlled areas that you can't access. A really tall fence keeps them in. Just kidding of course. But the reality is not so different. The areas outside of the controlled areas have much less "terrain" that deer like, and it's drier, flatter, and is pretty...
