    I would shy away from Sub-Zero fridges. Ours has been nothing but trouble. Yeah, the 12 year warranty is great, along with their customer service. But when you have to employ it every other year it gets a bit annoying, kind of like buying anything Vortex. Bosch I can't recommend either...

    Yeah, bacon is about as easy as it gets is what I tell people. A decent quality slicer is a real asset.

    Buckboard Bacon Cure is made by HI Mountain Seasonings. I use it to make my bacon now. It is a great curing/seasoner for smoked hog meat of any kind.

    Just got the "emergency" warning about poor snow pack/ reservoir water levels here in Western WA. Same as previous years. I don't know how to interpret this. I am hydrology challenged.

    I have had 2 different Lacrosse systems that didn't last very long. If I were to to buy another, it would certainly be a Davis. Quite a bit more expensive, but I have been told good things about them from several folks.
