Lots of great info in this thread already. Great to see.
The big front runner brands are starting to master the layering idea. Kuiu, Forloh, Sitka, stone glacier ext…. Take the time to figure out what particular items in a layering system works for you. The challenge I find is that it’s almost...
7mm hands down.
Adjust your load and projectile to suit your distance depending on distance to bait. Also run an optic that works both out to 300yards and in to 30-40. When I hunt with my 7mm I carry a few different types of rounds depending on the situation.
Learn your animal and learn to...
Anther note.

I’m not sure what denier the northridge is. They use a Toray Polyester with FUJIX RESILON stretch thread. Maybe somebody could school us a little here but I’m at the understanding that polyester doesn’t stretch/grow when wet but is weaker than the same weight nylon...
My buddy has a north ridge set and he said he tore it hiking with the dog pretty easy.
He also hiked for a few hours with it in some good Westcoast rain and said it felt like it was about to wet through (not sure what that mean?) it could have just felt like that as it’s thin.

I second the 10/10 for skre. I am inside Canada which helps.
Ordered a full set and shipped quick. Unfortunately it’s didn’t fit my racehorse style body. Pants were too baggy for my skinny legs (my preference) and the jackets don’t have a tall option, so to get the right sleeve length I had...

Second the wood heat. It has to be the best thing there is. Nice and dry. Honestly hard to beat canvas wall tents as a base camp. They breathe really well. Been in some wet and cold base camps and there’s nothing better than waking up warm and dry after a long wet evening the night before.
Bah ha ha ha. I’m more of a straight up bacon guy. Eat a pound in a sitting for breakfast. Why open a pack if your not cooking it all??? 🤷♂️
Believe you me. I’ve tried to pack on weight. I’m one of those guys that can eat whatever whenever and I fluctuate 5lbs. Even after 10days and 150+k of...
Thanks. That’s a a new one to me. It seem a lot of people love the old ones. The Zion 2 isn’t that popular and they brought back the Zion 1 but apparently the fabric isn’t the same and sizing has been somewhat inconsistent.
I notice they make a slim fit Zion which look perfect for a guy like...
