Just ask around When she gets to the campground . People will tell you if they’re leaving in the morning. I think most people upgrade to a better site this way. But none of them are bad.
I would advise her to hire a mule to carry her backpack. If she can. It just makes the hike in and out way more enjoyable. We camped at the very top of Mooney Falls and really felt we were lucky to get that spot. People leave to hike out very early in the mornings which leaves some primo...
Josh Martoglio. I hunted the second week of the season and he only had 2 other hunters in camp. All three of us killed bulls. Absolute GREAT guides, wranglers and cook. I noticed that he’s now gone to $10,000 for a 1x1 hunt which I guess is becoming the going price for a wilderness elk...
I broke one of my Leki micro vario carbons (my bad) and Leki sold me a new pair for cheap. I now carry the survivor of the pair I broke as a spare. These poles have served me very well and I highly recommend them.

Just start. Take the first step and buy some PPs. Maybe even apply for a tag somewhere. I have done 2 guided hunts in Wyoming and both were fantastic experiences. Just do it!

Carpet, just saw the date on your posts. You haven’t been yet. I’ve backpacked it a bunch but always in August. I can definitely help you with some info on some stuff outside of the Park. Getting those campsite reservations are always tough so I just walk the 11 miles to get out of the Park...
Hey Carpet, how’d your trip go? I was up there with an outfitter on horses in early August for 5 days and the fishing was not good. I’m going to blame it on the massive flood in the early summer because it was the worst year ever for putting some trout in a net. We tried all the usual stuff...
I drive a 2019 Honda Ridgeline and it’s perfect for me. Just enough truck to haul a dead deer, rides like a Cadillac and gets 24+ mpg. I’ve got the AWD model and it does very well in snow and mud.
