What is your favorite hunting dog and why ?

Brittany Spaniel. We have had Brittany Spaniels since I was a kid. Every one of them have been excellent dogs. Loyal, hunt hard and great around the family.

Two guns to end them all?

This is why every gun I had built with same hard parts. Other than the bullet in the chamber they are all the same with the exception of my 270. It has a 4.5x14 vx3 with tmr reticle and target turret for dialing. It will be getting a huskemaw soon to match the others.

Two guns to end them all?

The best paet of owning multiple rifles is to keep the shot strings down. I own 3 300 rums 2 7mags, 7rum, 338 rum & a 270. Its nice while shooting tongive them all a run. This makes it easy to only shoot 5 or 6 shots per gun and keep round count down.

Leupold VX-5 HD Tracking (Opinions on Huskemaw?)

I don't have any experience with huskemaw 3-12 or 4-16. I have used the 5-20lr and 5-20 bluediamonds. They are rock solid. Next one in the hopper is their 5-20 tactical scope. It has illuminated reticle with 10 different power levels and a bubble level in the very bottom of the reticle. The...

Leupold VX-5 HD Tracking (Opinions on Huskemaw?)

I am a big fan of the Huskemaws. I have 6 of them and have been running them since 2007. This is the only optic I have owned that has not failed and had to use warranty. Knock on wood. My dad, my son and I use them all season every year and they get banged around. Always hold zero and track great.

Which Shotgun for all things, upland, waterfowl, and clay pigeon?

We all shoot Beretta a400 and a391. We love em. Some buddies shoot benelli sb2 and sb3. When we trade I cant get back to my a400 soon enough. Its a love them or hate them thing. Must be the $1800 spent has something to do with it haha.

    Field hunting geese

The canadians are real temp sensitive. If you are going to watch and see when they are leaving the river and going to the field. For example it may be 30°f out and the geese are landing @ 8:30 am. Then a cold snap comes and its 10°f and they stay on the river longer. Maybe like 10am. If its...

    Muzzle Brakes .30cal

Terminator t3 brake is the best brake I have used on my 338 rum, 300 rums. Hands down out performs others.

    300 RUM project

I have 9.5lbs of 570 and not sure if I am gonna keep testing or not? I get real good accuracy and decent velocity with h1000 and 215 berger. 90 grains and its sub .5moa 3070 fps. I tried the n570 with the 230 berger and I was disapointed in accuracy. My most accurate load was 86 grains which...

    300 RUM project

I have 3 300 rums and had to rebarrel 1 of them @ 1500 rounds. They last along time if taken care of. I run 90 grains h1000 with a berger 215 and they shoot awesome! 300 rum is my favorite caliber by a long ways. I also have 7rum and 338 rum but the 300 rum is what does it for me.

Slow velocities with H4831 (.270 Win)

Also I had run the berger 150 vld with 59 grains h4831sc right @ 3000 fps. These I never got dialed in like the 140s but still would produce a hair over .5moa accuracy. I did try the nosler 150 lrab and it must have more bearing surface. I ran up to 58.5 h4831sc and it hit psi with poor accuracy...

    7mm powder choice?

I used to run 69.5-69.7 h1000 with berger 180 hvld. This would give .5moa accuracy right @ 3000 fps with a 26" barrel. I now run 71 grains retumbo with a berger 180 hvld @ 3080fps and 70 grains retumbo with 180 hornady eldm @3060 fps. Both the retumbo loads are .3 moa. They are both running adg...
