    Scope mounting loctite or not?

I believe they ship their rings with a light coat of oil to prevent rusting, and they (Talley) do recommend using Loctite on the base (receiver) screws. If you use Loctite, it helps with the torque of the screws instead of screwing dry screws into the receiver.

    Scope mounting loctite or not?

Honestly, this is the first time I have ever heard of oiling ring screws. I usually wipe the top of the screws with a rust preventative as routine maintenance, but never thought of putting oil on the threads themselves.

    Scope mounting loctite or not?

Yes, thoroughly degrease screws and their respective holes in the receiver with acetone. Put some blue Loctite on the side of the screw, and tighten to manufacturer's specs.

    Cuddeback Camera Fire

I'm thinking bigfoot happened by, decided to stop and take a "p" and put his cigarette on top of the camera until he finished. The result is a camera spontaneously combusting from the cigarette. Stranger things have happened.

    Will Vehicle Prices Ever Decrease?

Local we have New Orleans Fireman's Federal Credit union, River Region C.U., and Louisiana Federal C.U. I deal with the Fireman's Credit Union, reduced my loan by 3%, then my Wife went and did the same on her car.

    Will Vehicle Prices Ever Decrease?

Not sure where you are, but all of my local credit unions are advertising that if you refinance any car loan with them, they will cut your interest rate by at least 2% with no processing fees. If you have the monthly note auto deducted from your checking account, you can save an additional 1%.

Max Effective Range for Elk: 7-08, 6.5C, and 308

Yes, I agree and have been following the last 9 pages of some pretty heated discussion. I just thought I would "take us back" to the original question posted by OP, and seems to have been lost somewhere in the settling dust of the 160 responses.

Max Effective Range for Elk: 7-08, 6.5C, and 308

Sounds like optimum bullet performance to me. Complete penetration of the body cavity, and stopping in the hide on the far side so all of the energy was dumped into the animal, and most importantly you recovered the animal. (But I think you know that already, your question was tongue-in-cheek).

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

If you can get the Swift A-Frame to shoot well in your rifle, they are excellent. They are built like the Partition, but are bonded. Problem has been finding them lately.

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

What did the TTSX do to the moose that you would want to avoid when you are hunting your elk? Sounds like you already have a load for that bullet, and you know it works.
