    From what i understand from people i know, they dont really start getting them until may (depending on snow load). They cruise around slow looking into the coves and glassing the beaches at low tide. I also know people that will post up on the south facing slopes and glass up looking for them...

    check out HI Spice from Maui. I am hooked on that stuff and have a subscription. Every 2 months they send me 4 sauces. The flavors are great and its not just hot.

    before i had mine done, i went out and bought 3 new pairs of them. They are the best. i am a big fan of not worrying any more of what might happen. The little bit of discomfort for a week was worth it.

    if you got snowmachines you could go to alpine creek lodge for 3 or 4 days and go hunt ptarmigan. or take him out on a ocean charter for some fish.

    from what i remember from my xtratuffs, they fit a bit loosy goosey and they have pretty soft soles. Like mentioned already, you dont quite get the "locked in feel" that you do when you put on a alpha burly. But thats just like my opinion

    Alphas are what i wear. I usually get about 3 years out of a pair before they start to have little cracks in them. I use them surveying, fishing and hunting. Once they get little cracks i through some shoe goo on them and leave them in the garage for when visitors come up.

    That hunts out were the big halibut roam! It would be pretty costly for a boat drop off out there, basically in the middle between seward and homer. I bet you would be quite a few bucks ahead if you took a float plane from homer. Having the added bonus of seeing what its like above alder lines...
