My only ND ever was because of that screw. Pushing safety forward caused to fire. Was hand-loose when I inspected. Obviously a bad situation. I had tightened with gusto after replacing spring, but clearly that was not enough. Surprised this isn't talked about more.
Now, I loctite and torque to...
You are not praised enough for being a phenomenal shot as measured by real-world first-round impacts on steel and animals. The performance you achieve is what most hunters believe they can accomplish but seldom can. Congratulations on your competence, which I'm sure is hard won.

Not to be truculent, but one still must buy a trigger and barrel at that price. I suppose if one has many rem 700 components and wants a non-standard cartridge, it could pencil out. That just seems fringe, and increasingly fringe at this weight.

Quoting from the Wiki I wrote to introduce my city friends to Western hunting:
Cartridge selection is deceptively simple. First, choose a specific projectile in whose terminal performance you’re confident. Gain that confidence by perusing hunters’ forums with many pictures of...
I love my baby ATACR (mil-XT on an m110 SASS clone) and don't feel you will want more mag in field conditions. Tracking the shot is more valuable than uber zoom IMHO.
The Mil-R is generally accepted as the most hunting-friendly of the NF reticles, which isn't saying much.

I'm sorry, I just don't buy that argument.
We don't rise to the occasion, we fall to the level of our training. If we're lucky. There's got to be a standard, and an 8" milk jug at 400 yards is a pretty good one. Missing these jugs under ideal circumstances shouldn't be received with gladness...
That's a good point. At least the Pierce Shadow doesn't compromise on something (if not multiple items). Would be a shame if the Pierce Shadow lacked a rail, or used a notoriously unreliable trigger mechanism.
