I would not do it cause I know I can't do the 7 miles. But hypothetically if I was, and the plan was 6 days, I would take all 6 days of gear with me. If the hunting is bad and you have to hike back out after 3 days that would be unfortunate. But if the hunting is good, it would be a sucky...
One of handicaps of being a newish hunter (or new at anything) is the inability to decipher what your told is true or not. Lots of wrong information out there being passed off as gospel.
A little variety in that menu might not be a bad thing. I know I wouldn’t want to eat 3 peak meals a day for 6 days. Maybe a couple breakfasts and for dinners. I wouldn’t eat them for lunch.
Few of you guys have your bear deterrent listed as "in pack" gear. Do you really keep it inside your pack or did it make the list because its "on" the pack?
