Software Architect by day, Gunbuilder by night (Kyle Precision Arms). Other hats I've worn are: Engineering technician, ticketed small aircraft mechanic, auto mechanic, truck driver, logger - I just couldn't seem to stay in one vocation too long - got bored, needed...
Awesome! Sounds like a low-carb style, which is where I'm headed as well. I just picked up the New Atkins book, some changes from the old Atkins way. I'm still working my way through it. I see other diets out there that follow a similar approach. It seems like the low-carb approach is picking...
95 lbs @ 52 ?!? You're my hero!
I've got 60 lbs that need to come off. My wife has been badgering me for years to loose weight, but I had no incentive until I started hunting more on foot (i.e. leave the Rhino at home). Now I'm starting my diet and excited about it!
I've done the strength...
All great news! All I can see is what's in the videos that Aron posts. And in one of the videos I see the frame flex to the side ever so little.
Don't get me wrong I'm putting my order together for one also!
These days an Architect for a large statistical software firm, precision gunsmith by hobby with CNC gear in the garage. In the past an engineering tech, journeyman auto mechanic, ticketed aircraft mechanic, logger, truck driver - whatever seemed fun at the moment and paid the bills!
I'm leaning toward the bikini myself, the weight reduction is nice, but I like the give/flexibility designed into the frame - so if I twist, the frame can move a bit with me. I've packed with old school external aluminium frames and they are stiff to the point you notice it every time you need...
I have the Kodiak 10x10 and used it for two weeks last summer. The quality of the build is outstanding. I'd listen to the rain pound at night and no condensation whatsoever on the inside (Okanagan Valley). I was skeptical when my wife bought it as I wanted to hold out for a wall tent, but in...
I've used Versapod and dropped them - too heavy and sloppy - now using Sinclair Tactical on the 338 Edge, not bad but a little loose. What sets it apart is the wide stance, but still compacts down (sort of).
In my mind here's the one to keep an eye on http://www.lraccuracy.com/. Underslung like...
Lots of good posts to show one consistent answer, it's operating at the upper end of your lethal range. Saying it as lethal range implies you're also within the weapons lethal capability - but all long range folks already understand that. It's one of those skills we enjoy honing.
Weapons...
I also read that some facilities are experimenting with running AC current through the carcass to reduce this cold shortening effect (?)
As for pH, is that something we as hunters can control, i.e. does an excited animal have a different pH than one taken unawares ?
Or you could buy a 300 WSM (or 325 WSM) Browning A-Bolt with BOSS, 6 lb 6 oz. with the added benefit of enjoying shooting it. I use a Browning with BOSS, once it's tuned I can put a 60 rounds through it in a day in the mountains and not feel beat up. We shoot out between 100-500 yards for load...
Huh! I just google'd cold shortening, it's everywhere. Sounds like sage advice to watch out for. It also sounds like we walk a fine line between cooling too fast - where cold shortening can occur - and cooling too slow - where spoilage can occur.
