Anyone use the ulmer edge on elk last year?

I probably wouldn't elephant hunt with it but for deer sized critters you've got plenty of umph to smoke an Ulmer through one. I'm gonna shoot the Ulmers out of my 70lbs Carbon Spyder 34 this year for whitetail & mule deer.

If your sure the cam timing/rotation is right on the bow then it's probably just your nock height being off a little bit... It doesn't take much to make a broadhead plane high or low. You can be hammering with field tips and then have a broadhead hit high or low by a few inches because of it...

    The Randy Ulmer......

Same here... The over spined hype came from traditional shooters and finger shooters.. You have to have the spine right for those situations to get good accuracy... With a modern compound, shooting a release aid and a fall away rest over spined is NOT an issue.

    Settle a dispute

If your gonna shoot a heavy insert like that go to the .300 spine.

Keep inmind that Coop's advice of 2 twists in one and out of the other is a starting point, not exact... You might have to go 3 twists, maybe 2.5, maybe 1.5... Don't just run in and tell them "put 2 in this one & 2 out of this one"... You have to shoot it in, sometimes it takes a couple times of...

Set the centershot of the rest at 13/16", measure it from the riser side not the rubber pad, make sure cam timing is correct "advance top cam about 1/8" ahead of bottom", then yoke tune the bow using a fletche shaft & a bare shaft.

    Montana Livin

Your from GA and looking on move to Montana and expect mild winters???? LOL, good luck with that... I grew up in KY and now live in South Dakota, people that are from the west don't realize what southerners consider a mild winter, to a southerner an inch of snow and 30 degrees temps during the...

New Bow next season - Mathews Outback price?

If your selling to people who actually know bows, $350 is top end... If your selling to people who don't have a clue and just see Mathews on the limb then you could probably pull $500'ish out of it. Those Mathews fanboys will fall for anything.

    Negatives to being over spined?

IMHO over spined doesn't mean a whole lot on a compound bow with a fall away rest and using a mechanical release....All the people freaking out over being over spined really stems from guys who shoot stick bows off the shelf with fingers because you need a certain amount of flex for a stick bow...

    Anyone use Bowjax Speed Sleeves?

Honestly I rarely run any string silencers on most bows these days...With a heavy arrow and a modern bows that are well tuned most of the time you don't need any silencers on the string....I stick with speed nocks, the sleeves look clean but there have been issues with them coming apart as well...

    G5 Prime?

Good to hear all the positive reviews on here.. Think I'm gonna be picking up an Impact soon to play with. I really like the specs on that bow and I think Prime is onto something with that cam system.
