First time wild pig on pellet smoker. Advice?

I believe the brining helps with removing some of the "gamey taste", and is supposed to add some moisture to the meat. I think the binder is just a wet ingredient that helps keep the dry seasoning on the meat.

First time wild pig on pellet smoker. Advice?

It was very tasty! The guys at work loved it as well, definitely a keeper of a recipe! I do wish the hindquarter was a bit bigger though, made enough for dinner for my wife and I, some to share at work, and 2 lunches.

First time wild pig on pellet smoker. Advice?

I finally got a chance to revisit this today with the other hindquarter from the same pig. Used the Meat Church "Mexican pulled pork" as a guide, and turned out great! First I brined it overnight in a simple salt/sugar/water brine Next I used Cholula hot sauce as a binder and liberally...

    Chronograph

This! I have a ProChrono DLX, and am very happy with it! App works great with my phone, reads everything I've shot over it from my bow to light bullet .243. Can be found for around $100-$120.

How much caffeine per day for you?

Usually have my 16oz mug of decently strong coffee on my drive to work in the morning. That's about it, much after that I start getting jittery.

Peterson 7mm rem mag "long" version

I just started loading with some of the 7mm RM Long brass. Shoulder bump in the package was .004-.005 from what my once fired measurement was. Which is WAY less than any of the factory loads I measured. Brass is SUPER consistent weight wise, and is definitely top quality.

Starting with 7mm Rem Mag, need suggestions

With what you have I'd go with H1000 first and then H4831. H1000/160 Accubonds is a very good combo in my Tikka 7mm Rem Mag. I have been using Hornady brass for the most part with good luck. I just got some Peterson brass, so I'm about to do a load work up again. H4831SC was super accurate, but...

    Calling all 243 owners!

In my reloading notes it says 2.830 max oal for factory magazine, I could be wrong though. So if it's there or under, should be just fine! Most of the 90&95gr bullets I've tried hit the lands around 2.750" in my rifle.

    Calling all 243 owners!

My 1-10" Tikka .243 has stabilized evey bullet I've tried, from 75 VMAX to 100 gr interlocks. Haven't tried anything heavier. Seems to really like the 90-95gr bullets, especially the 90&95 NBT, 90 eldx, and LOVES 90gr hot Cors.
