    In my 22" 280. A healthy dose of imr 7828ssc under a 160gr sierra hpbt gets me 2900fps. Its a stable load and not close to pressure.     My smith sent me some photos. Got it all together with tungsten cerakote. I wont be able to pick it up for a couple of weeks. Its also still in factory stock. I decided to keep it until load development is done and make a decision on stock after that.

    Yeah i thought about 7mm-08 on the winchester action but was concerned about this as well. One of the reasons i went .284 hoping its just long enough to not hang up.

    I tested I did make up a couple of dummy rounds to make sure that it would pick up the round. Obviously i couldnt feed it all the way but i could move the bolt far enough where the round cleared the magazine. Hopefully it feeds fine when its all together.
