Why the big discrepancy with published load data?

So, I'm reloading for a 7mm Rem Mag with H1000 and 150 gr Barnes TTSX. Barnes' reloading data from their website for 24" 1:9.5" twist: Minimum 61.0/2758 fps Maximum 67.7/2998 fps Hodgdon's reloading data (same bullet) from their website for 24" 1:9.5" twist: Minimum 67.2/2847 fps/49,200 psi...

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

If you want the most accurate info, you can bluetooth your Kestrel to the Binos. It will send the EHR, measured distance, and direction to the Kestrel and the Kestrel will run the data and output to the Binos. You could also use the Holdover output. That does take into account slope, temp, and...

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

After playing around with the Binos, you realize that at hunting ranges (for me < 500 yds), the EHR is pretty minimal even with significant slope. IMO, it's much more useful to range and have the clicks displayed. In the mil setting it will display in whole numbers- meaning 17 would be 1.7...

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

This is not correct... As stated above: In the settings, you can set the Output Formats in EHr (Equivalent Horizontal Range), HOLd (relevant holdover) or the number of clicks (MOA or MIL). In the instruction manual, it states that EHr and HOLd take into consideration distance to the target...

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

Correct. You can set the Binos to account for inclination and temp, but then you lose the mils/moa readout.

    Question on shoulder bump

So, if I just set the die to 1.560 and run all the cases through (because I still need to size the neck with a bushing) that should do it? Excuse my ignorance ;) Thanks!

    Question on shoulder bump

I understand that most people bump the shoulder back .002". My question is what should I do with mixed brass? Both were shot out of my rifle, but a barrel change was done so the measurements with the comparator are different. On the old barrel, the comparator measurement is 1.558 and on the new...

    Calculating CBTO

    Very good information. Thanks all!

    Calculating CBTO

Got it- I think. So the Datum line to the Ogive is constant in both the actual and modified case, so you take the difference from the base to the Datum line,

    Calculating CBTO

I understand, but how do you adjust CBTO length for your cartridge if you are using the generic Hornady case? The reason I mention headspace, is that I read somewhere that you can use the Hornady headspace gauge on the two cartridges to give you an idea on how much the cartridges are off.

    Calculating CBTO

My question is how do I recalculate the CBTO for my case after using the Hornaday OAL gauge? Obviously, the modified Hornady case is not going to have the same dimensions as my fired case. Do you just add or subtract off the headspace on both cases?

Yes, I got caught up in all the data that I couldn't see the forest for the trees!

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

LOL good point. All in all, all the variables have pretty minimal effects at hunting distances.

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

Bummer... I just ranged from a distance of 320 yds from an inclination of -12 degree. With the EHr it noted the distance of 314 and with MILs it noted the clicks, but the distance remained 320. With this information, I think I would leave the output as EHr and still use my DOPE card. What do...

Leica Geovid 3200 has me confused

I just bought the Leica Geovid 3200 and am a little confused. In the settings, you can set the Output Formats in EHr (Equivalent Horizontal Range), HOLd (relevant holdover) or the number of clicks (MOA or MIL). In the instruction manual, it states that EHr and HOLd take into consideration...
