    I drew a late-October Kodiak bear tag.

If you are asking which guide outfit acted poorly, I will abstain from answering since this was not a direct interaction with me and was second hand information. Although I did see the guide’s boats come out of the exact area in question that morning with the boats loaded down. And also...

Uganik Lake, Mush Lake on Kodiak

Went well with Island Air. Unfortunately there were no other accessible float plane areas to land other than Uganik Lake that time of year, but they were able to recommend alternative camping sites on the lake. Definitely worth the money to fly in GOOD gear. If we could have flown in on the...

    Hot Tub?

Hot Springs Jetsetter LX salt. Have had it for 6 years, no problems. Insignificant increase in electric bill. Maintenance not difficult. Keep it at 101-102 in the winter, about 100 in the summer. A glass of wine or bourbon, turn on the underwater lights, kick on the jets, and key the romance...

    Brass deflector screen design

Howdy I am creating a brass deflector screen to put up at the shooting range to prevent brass from hitting me, or prevent my brass from hitting others. I know flying brass is part of shooting, but I have a couple of pistols that really throw it far and I feel bad for the guys to the right of me...

    Black Bear hunting resources

Learn how bears live, think, act. Then you can start “seeing” habitat instead of just driving by wondering where to step off. South facing hills when the sun is out, what are they eating at what time of year, which terrain is most likely holding what the bears are looking for, be it fresh grass...

    “Look!… right?” One hundred percent!

No one talks about womansplaining. That’s when women take a simple concept and explain it into something incomprehensible. I don’t know why the term never took off.

Well, be that as it may…irregardless of your take on the matter, it is what it is, so…

Pleonasm Basically…essentially… pleonasm is understood to mean a word or phrase which is useless, clichéd, or repetitive, but a pleonasm can also be simply an unremarkable use of idiom.

    300 wsm barrel lengths

Forgot to add… .300WSM ammo up here in AK has been scarce. Very little available past couple of years. I did see some on the shelf finally last week at Sportsmans in Anchorage, but only about 10 boxes of a brand I wouldn’t stick in my rifle unless I was completely out of ammo. And put a condom...

    300 wsm barrel lengths

If you feel you can punch a moose or a big brownie at 400 yards and drop him within 50 yards of the shot with a 20” barrel, then go for it. I personally feel a little underpowered with my .300 WSM with a 24” barrel at 400+ yards on brownies and moose, and therefore would not take those shots. If...

    300 wsm barrel lengths

Never discount what an extra 4 inches will do for your performance. Sorry, couldn’t help myself. Mine is 24in. It’s the shortest I would go to not lose velocity. Why do you want to go shorter?
