From what the response looks like from CO, OTC is going away for archery for everyone, including residents. Not pleased, but, i can see their view.... i think.... if i squint....
I'm gonna apply some positive thinking here about my future tag in NM that i drew for sure. That way when i see the red bars again on my application status it'll be a real crushing defeat and not just a disappointment
There are elk in dang near every unit west of 25 and dang near every unit east of 25 (just harder to access due to private). I'd recommend scouting prospective units, any advice/information you find on the internet should be viewed with some suspicion. If it's posted up everywhere how amazing...
For western hunting - not sitting in a tree - i love the longer AtoA (use a 33" myself). For me they just shoot better at longer distances, and the weight seems to hold them steady for me in the wind. They also seem to be more forgiving to me. I switched from a 28" AtoA and wont be looking...

I did mention some terrain i like to focus on... and then i...
Pretty broad question and everyone's got their own techniques for this. I think you basically already hit all the techniques though:
If its thick without glassing opportunity its good to be calling or ambushing .... brings those binos anyway, you'd be surprised how helpful they still are in...
