Youth rifle - compact really needed?

Catch and release for me: NF SHV 3-10 side parallax model. Non illuminated MOAR. Really is a perfect scope for all my uses, I just don’t appreciate MOA and let it bother me more than it should. Some dings on the scope, glass is perfect, does not have the original box, will come in a 4-14 box...- FSB12B

22 ARC
The real question is 22 ARC or 6 ARC? My boys 308 is too much for him. Hoping to draw an elk tag for him this year. He’s proficient out to 300 yards. I am sure the ELD series would be enough, considering it has taken a Moose. I have a spare NF laying around I will be tossing on either. -
