Pretty happy with my 10x50 ELs. I live and hunt in South Central Idaho. Long vistas and ranges, generally speaking. Sometimes wish for a 12X NL or 15X SLC but the 10x50 is a great all-around bino for me.
I’m interested in a new rangefinder. Had a very good experience with the old LRF ? 1200 years ago but I’m not well-versed in the newer technology? I’m undecided whether I want something with the ability to link with a phone app or a Kestrel.

OP, as an aside, I had a CZ in 17 HMR that was just a sweetie? I used to be able to dust clay pigeons with the thing out to 200-250 yards. Pretty impressive for a riimfire?
Scope on mine was an old Vari-X 2? 4.5-14.
Big difference in weight as the current 8X SLC has 56mm objective lenses. Swaro’s figures give the weight as 43 ounces? So you are looking at 20 ounces + lighter for the 40mm objective version of the Zeiss?
