My take on it (never run ships) having spent a lot of time in boats of various types is that when the power failed they lost steerage. So they were cruising along at about 9 knots or so frantically trying to get electrical power back and when that didn't happen they went to full reverse on the...
Just redid our 1100 sq ft deck last fall with Timbertech. My sons are contractors in MT and they recommended it, especially with the amount of rain we get here in NW WA. It looks great, went down fast and the hidden fasteners work great. It's expensive initially but no maintenance means a lot...
My recommendations based on 25 years of having hearing aids:
Costco has great name brand hearing aids and some good hearing aid specialists (but not all are good). If you have severe hearing loss you might be better off going to a private audiologist. In the canal aids will be in the shop for...
Biggest difference between black and griz is attitude. Don't expect a griz to run or be intimidated by you at all. They may run, but might just stare you down while deciding what to do with you. Avoid hunting alone if possible and listen to what your uncle says, sounds like he's got it figured...
A friend has an Ubco dual motor bike. I've ridden it but not taken it hunting. It's got lots of power and knobby tires (they are skinny though). I think it would climb well but it would suffer in deep rutted single tracks because of low ground clearance compared to most dirt bikes. Seems...
Nah, gotta call BS. 2 stroke engines last a long, long time and are extremely reliable. You can't rewrite history to fit a narrative. I've had Stihl blowers, chainsaws, wackers, etc for decades and all have run almost forever. I still have an old Homelite saw that is over 50 years old and...
That makes sense. At least at full draw the compound would be less than a recurve. I should be able to try shooting again in about a month I think. Not having shot a recurve I was just thinking the draw cycle would be easier than getting loaded up quickly like with a compound. I'm just...
Thanks, that's what I am worried about. I'll have to get to the bow shop and see if I can try some different options when/if I start shooting again.
Warming up with bands is a great idea, it was usually the first few pulls that were really difficult.
I watched a youtube on how to draw a bow...
I would recommend going to physical therapy. I couldn't sleep on my right side either and now it's no problem. It took a couple of months of not shooting (bow or shotgun) and doing weight training every day but it's much better.
I've injured my right shoulder (right handed) and not sure I'll be able to shoot my compound bow any longer. I'm old (73) and have been shooting about 64 lbs but over the last few years it's been painful. Like a dummy I figured I could power through it and just get stronger but it got worse...
I figure that if I'm extremely confident that I can hit a tight group at a set distance on a stationary target my max range on an elk is 10 yards less than that. Might bump that up if elk is not aware of me and standing perfectly broadside. No matter what I wouldn't take a shot over 60 or so...
It's not robbery since it's voluntary. I'd settle for just not getting the stink eye when I pull into the trailhead and locals see my out of state plates. Don't they realize that I'm subsidizing their hunting :-))
