I couldn't agree more with the suppressing and a high quality recoil pad. I have a light weight 416 remington suppressed with recoil pad and it is tolerable at under 7 pounds (grizzly mountain hunt).
I've hunted some burn areas a few years after burns in Idaho and had good luck Bear hunting (and mushrooms). It actually made it a little easier from the aspect that it was easier to see more than fifty feet.
Looks like a great option - amazing the quality and variety of gear being produced. Very happy with my frontier pack (barney pack - 7800), but I too have started the search for a smaller pack in that 4000 range.

I have a 2014 2500 Dodge BigHorn with a diesel engine and it doesn't matter what trailer I'm towing (camper, cargo trailer or 18 car trailer with my tractor on it) I average 14-16 mpg on the highway (not all that different than driving around town). On the highway with no trailer 20-22 mpg.
