7mm prc, how short is too short?

Wow. That's quite a velocity difference. Box (assuming 24" barrel) says 2975, so you're giving up about 50fps per inch of barrel.

    New Springbok bipod feedback wanted?

Pretty darn close. Springbok legs go 19.5"-38.5". Plenty for kneeling. But for folks who aren't cutting the handles off their toothbrushes, an extra 5 or 6 oz is pretty trivial.

Great idea! Let us know what they say!

    New Springbok bipod feedback wanted?

The springbok is only 10oz. Very backpack friendly.

    New Springbok bipod feedback wanted?

True enough. They do offer longer legs separately that can be used with any of their bipods, but they are a bit longer/heavier than the ones that ship with the Springbok. Honestly, the Springbok bipod mount would probably work just fine for you. As BMart mentioned, they all use the same...

    New Springbok bipod feedback wanted?

The jury's still out for me on the springbok attachment itself. But the legs are the absolute perfect length for shooting from seated/kneeling position. For a more secure shooting position I unscrewed the legs from the springbok and attached them to a conventional javelin bipod holder thingy...

    7mm PRC Build with a 20" Barrel - Elk Rifle for 2024 - Advice?

Wondering how the 18" 7PRCs perform without suppressors. I have a 24" XBolt that I'm thinking of cutting down for a more compact mountain/brush gun.

    7mm PRC short barrel?

Bumping again. Did the muzzle velocity on the 18” barrels stabilize as they broke in? Was also interested to read about pressure issues in early ammo. I had a heavy bolt lift a while back while doing some initial chrono work on my XBolt in 7PRC. Didn’t occur that it could be the factory...

7mm prc, how short is too short?

That’s exciting. I appreciate the field report! I’ve been shooting 160gr Hornady CXs, which I think are loaded a bit light as they have the same posted muzzle velocity (3000fps) as their 175gr ELDX. Makes me think they’d shoot well out of a shorter barrel…

Any issues with muzzle blast from unburnt powder?

7mm prc, how short is too short?

Curious if you run into any kind of muzzle blast from unburnt powder at 18”. I’ve got a Browning XBolt in 7PRC that I’m thinking of having chopped down to 18, but I don’t plan to run a suppressor.

    Sig Sauer Zulu6

That looks fantastic. I’ll definitely be picking it up when it is released. They are phenomenal on a tripod. I’ve never used a Sportsmen’s head. But in scan mode the view while mounted on my dinky tripod and cheapo Charlie ball head mount feels so smooth it’s almost cinematic.

The hardware side of the binos is covered for life by SIG. The electronics are covered for 5 years. Course, that doesn’t help in the field. But mine held up great during a hunt over Thanksgiving weekend. And it sounds like Cliff G used them a ton this fall without issues.

You can use one of these. Snapzoom Universal Binocular Tripod Mount https://a.co/d/672eGei I hear Aziak is also working on something.
