    Thanks for the insight on the different pieces. This is my first year trying to get an actual system together and not have just a bunch of random clothes that don’t work. I’m sure I’ll definitely be trying different pieces and combinations to try to narrow it down.

    Ok. I just picked up some pieces from Kuiu and that was one of them. I white tail hunt public land and am super active. I got the peloton LS 118 strongfleece 260 and the kenai jacket and pants. I have a nomad barrier jacket to put over the top if I need to.

    I bought that same pack a couple months ago and it’s really nice. I’ve loaded it and unloaded it a few times playing around with it and figuring out the pockets and organization. No time in the field yet.

    I think the puffy gear would get used more the way I hunt, plus I have a small umbrella that screws into a tree.

    Yea I avoid it when I can, but also don’t want rain to stop me. I have a small umbrella that screws into a tree if I get caught out in it. My main though was like if it’s gonna be raining first thing in the morning, I could still hit the woods with the rain gear.

    I was leaning that way also. I think puffy gear would get a lot more use the way I hunt. But didn’t know if one was more beneficial than the other

    I would go with a good shell and then hit ebay and classifieds for used insulated top/bottom. I’m waiting to hit my post limit to check out the classifieds on here.

    Yea it’s literally all over the place. So I can’t just bank on one or the other or one set up.
