Well in a bright spot to an otherwise crappy week, I drew my first choice archery tag. If anyone has any pointers for unit 9, mainly regarding access and water, please shoot me a PM. I’ll offer tyvek squares for trade on decent info.
I had a deer tag in there this year and got passed by some archery elk hunters on horseback about 2 hours after dark a good 4 miles from the trailhead while we were packing out. Said they had been riding back since sunset. I was genuinely curious if they were going to the wrong trailhead.
I'm not really afraid of it, but it would be interesting if all of their data was compromised and someone made a heat map of where people recorded tracks. Most of my waypoints are either labeled day/time or good poop spot.
I thought this was an interesting (and humorous) perspective on how safe all your OnX pins might be. I know it's been discussed here before that the people who work at OnX or the other companies have access to your pins, but I had never considered that they may have a data breach that would...
In addition to everything stated above, I think just a general increase of your surroundings is the surest way to avoid an injury. I catch myself so often in day to day life just zoning out and mindlessly getting on my phone, whatever. Almost every close call or accident I’ve ever been in has...
I have no idea. I've always considered this a problem for a happy version of my future self. That being said, I've always found the stoutest looking tree limb I could reasonably get some 2mm line over and then hoisted whatever I was leaving behind as high as possible. I've left some clothes...
I have a ‘99 f-350 with the 7.3L powerstroke and a ‘22 with the 7.3L gas. I like both of them and don’t understand the strong feelings one way or the other. I pull a trailer that’s 5-6k lbs daily with the gas engine and I think it does just fine. I also pull my camper which is pushing 9k lbs...
Someone somewhere at sometime said something about you either make payments or you buy parts/pay a mechanic.
I'll second any Ford truck with the STX package. I bought a '22 F-250 after someone on here walked me through how to build one out on the ford website. I paid around $48-49k after...
Pick up a used mystery ranch on here. I’ve had it for 4-5 years now and planned on upgrading at some point, but can’t really justify the cost. I have packed out an elk every year I’ve gone and it’s held up well.
