WTS First Lite Fleece, Beanies and REI/Patagonia Softshell Pants

I know I’m a bit late here, but are those Taku pants still available?

    Kidney stone

Skiing and biking with that think sucked. Peeing blood, fatigue, uncomfortable…. I am thankful mine didn’t have a string otherwise I’d be tempted to remove it myself…. however when it came time to get it out, no string…. I won’t go into detail on how they snake it out and how uncomfortable it...

    Kidney stone

They are the worst! My biggest fear is having one while in the back country. I bring a few hydrocodone with me wherever I go. They are pretty damned expired now. Hope they still work otherwise it’s going to be hell getting out! I’ve had them twice now and each time the pain lasted 12-17 hours...

    Loaning out equipment.

To good friends I’d loan just about anything. I’d probably have to write it down though, since I’d forget who and what I lent it too though.

How late it too late to totally change careers? Who's done it (w/o being $$-secure already)?

Some of those people are one paycheck away from being homeless or losing a lot. There is comfort in not having the latest and greatest. I’ve leaned to be happy with what I need, not be down about what I want. I have thought about a career change but then quickly realized it means more...

Our leaders and the stock market.....

It’s great for Alaska. Haven’t looked into it for anyone else. Leave you all down there to sort it out :)

Anyone borrowed or loaned an inreach?

Oof. That’s really good to know. I may be a little more cautious who I lend it to, or at least let them know of the consequences. Maybe have a lawyer draft something up before I lend it out. 😆

    Up to date aerial mapping

I don’t know about how often they get updated, but ESRI satellite maps are pretty dang clear, at least where I’m at.

    Sleeping pads for side sleepers

I use an Exped DownMat (3.5” thick) with a Big Agnes bag that has a sleeve on the bottom. The pad basically mates to the bag and I can roll around and the bag/pad stay put. I’m a side sleeper and it works well.

    Cheap Stuff that Works

This kind of made me laugh. Today I tried using a pruning saw that I’ve used as a bone saw before to try to cut drywall. Not working so well.

    Cellular Trail Cameras

Some equipment can handle it but I’m more interested in what the batteries can do. I do have WiFi /battery Arlo cameras outside and they seem to start to fail around a few days of 0F. We welcome the cold hunting (in moderation). Had a caribou hunt a few years ago and it must have been 70F+. We...

    Scammers!

This is disappointing but not surprising. Seems like there would be an easier way to scam. I do understand the 10 post and 7 day limit, though an item for sale first brought me to this site not too long ago. I like the old style forum layout and will stick around after! Don’t even know if it’s...

    Cellular Trail Cameras

How well do these cellular trail cams do in the winter? Single digits to low teen F. Thinking about getting one but the temps stay cold here. Any malfunctions, how’s the battery life?

    Refreezing dehydrated meals

Are you adding dehydrated burger or freeze dried? Is there a product you recommend? Looking to make cheap noodle and meat meals without breaking the bank. Also want it light.
