my son and I both use 165 AB's in ours and have nothing but great reviews on paper, deer, pigs, coyotes and elk . we've taken 3 elk (from 19 to 200 yards) with excellent performance (to be fair, all those were well hit - lungs, broadside, so nearly any decent bullet would have worked)

when I "hunt plan" - and I do...... the vast majority of my plans involve about 4 miles of total walking and no more than 1500 vertical feet of climb in a day. My preference is <1000 vertical feet in a day.

I just pulled up some 2021 and 2022 tag data.
just looking at the DRAW recap for 2022, overall, 62% of all draw tags went to resident adults. 30% went to nonres adults. 7% to resident youth, and 1% to nonres youth.
from what I can gather, the draw tags represent about 42% of all tags sold...
