Hotel stay - Council Bluffs/I-29 or Omaha airport area better ?

And echoing what a few others have said, there are a few Marriott and hilton options right by the BassPro and Casinos that are nice. Also wouldn't add anything (<5 min) to your drive and would have better food options to stay right in downtown Omaha, which is right on the river.

Google maps wont tell you this, but you can actually take the exit right south of the closure and take the frontage road right alongside I29 for a mile and get right back onto I29 north.

Kansan plead guilty to poaching Moose in Colorado

Agree. Largest/most significant penalty I remember seeing for a single animal case. Good to see a punishment that will actually hurt.

Need help with insoles

Find a local PT that makes custom ones. I have a small leg length difference and custom was the way to go.

Kuiu pro vs k3

I have both an Icon pro 7200 and K3 4800. Packed out many deer, elk and antelope with the Kuiu, but after wearing my buddies k3 to try it out, the load shelf and frame were just better to carry heavy meat loads in my opinion. I think kuiu is better for carrying stuff and still fine for meat, but...

IOWA - Water pollution & Livestock

Didnt quote the post I was referring to for some reason. Was specifically talking about the soil quality, air quality, smells like manure all the time. Also crp enrollment in iowa is up almost 300k acres from 2016 and is not terribly far from peak enrollment in the 90's which would indicate...
