Hands down my favorite hunting round. 140 Berger’s are all I’ve ever shot and have never let me down. Several elk, several deer and several more antelope one shot and flop with the farthest at 908 yards so far. Easy to tune a load and will do anything and more than most trendy new 6.5s will do.
Built a 25 PRC this summer and pushing the 133 Berger at 3170 fps, 2” groups at 600 yards. Can’t wait to do some field testing with this bullet. The ballistics are impressive and recoil is minimal. I think it’s a great choice with brass availability and no special dies. Running 6.5 PRC dies with...
Another option. At first I bought a custom knife then started making them many years ago. Lots of great options from small makers are available and typically much better values for a quality knife than the mass producers.
All the knives you mentioned are very similar other than blade steel and design. There is very little difference in quality of craftsmanship. They are mass produced blades with mass produced handles typically attached with mechanical fasteners in a mass produced sheath. Choose a steel that...
If you are seam sealing I recommend doing it indoors stretched and one seam at a time. I did my tipi in the yard and made a bigger mess than I should have. Hard to reach the upper stuff and the breeze picked up midway through. I did a tarp in the garage pulled horizontally and it was much easier...
I started with a 24” 6.5-284 then built another with 22” and wish I would have went with 20”. It still pushes 140 Berger’s fast enough to be effective at long range without a problem.
