AKbushpilot
As a kid I grew up trapping and bow hunting on the Yellowstone River in Montana on my father’s horse ranch. Some of my fondest childhood memories are hunting and fishing on the Yellowstone river and in the surrounding mountains. My aspirations while going through high school grew into bow hunting for Elk and Deer while trapping furbearers. At 22 years old I joined the Air Force and was deployed to Alaska of all places! My dream of going there came true.
My first successful hunt in Alaska was by jet boat and that was the ticket back then. I harvested a 49 1/2-inch Moose with 4 brow tines on my first solo DIY hunt. My friends and I decided to start filming our Alaska hunts and eventually we put them out on DVD’s. The DVD’s I produced raised so much attention that Stoney Wolf Productions contacted me and wanted to sign contracts. I was so excited because this company also had signed Jim Shockey. I knew I was on the right track. Four years later we had 10 big Moose over 60 inches between me and my friends which led to hunting videos across the United States, Canada & Finland.
In 2000 I became a pilot which opened a whole new world of opportunities. I was able to get into remote wilderness areas to hunt. With my bush piloting skills up to speed I spread out to other areas in Alaska and what I could see from the air changed everything. I could see where all the giant Moose, Dall Sheep, and Caribou were hanging out.
I’ve taken big Dall sheep, Grizzlies, Caribou, and Black Bear. I am currently on my 24th year of taking a Moose 60 inches or bigger, not to mention three in the 70”-inch range.
My wife and I started to give people the opportunity to go out to these areas, that we have personally hunted, and fulfill their dreams and hunts of a lifetime in exceptional areas for a reasonable price.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your DIY dream Hunt Planner in Alaska!
