I run a gortex 3-layer top and bottom. They save lives. They make a pillowcase to stuff clothes in for a pillow for a few ounes or used a ultra light sil bag. Take 2 headlamps. Firestarter and ferro rod, 2 forms to make a fire. 2 socks 2 undies total.

This appears to be the same headlamp for 1/3 the price. Can anyone confirm this? Or have they used it? I have 2 of the Peax ones as I have been replacing BlackDiamond Storm 350 and 400's as they break or batteries leak over time and ruin them...
My uncles, in their mid to late 60's... hunted the same unit for 25+ years...last year only 1 group got out to hike other than them in the unit... it's a cow elk hunt, 100 tags, 10% harvest...they get out and move and typically tag out. Sometimes you just outwork the current status around you.

I had days where I did a 4k up and 8k down peak bagging. Never a day under 2,500, most around 3,500 with 50# packs. And I was nothing special what so ever. We started most trips at 7,500' and pushed pass 14k.
