It’s been a litte quiet on the Rok Blog lately and for good reason. We’re in the last week of Weapons Month and we’ve been putting the final touches on new articles and working with sponsors on some great giveaways. I’ve also been pounding the keyboard on a HUGE project that is guaranteed to make you a better mule deer hunter — watch for the big announcement on that in the next few weeks.
We started Weapons Month in early May. Check previous blog posts to make sure you didn’t miss any of the great articles on rifles, muzzleloaders, and bows.
Yesterday, we announced the winner of the Hoyt Carbon bow from Hoyt and S&S Archery. The podcast Hoyt and S&S put together on increasing bow performance went over with a bang. You can listen to the podcast and see who won the bow here:
For you backcountry hunters looking to save weight on a muzzleloader without sacrificing performance, check out James Petker’s article on Knight’s Ultra-Lite Muzzleloader here:

Steve Speck at S&S Archery has also published three articles AND paired them with three giveaways on the following top-tier archery accessories (click the pictures to enter to win any or all of these before June 16th:
The Fast Eddie Sight by Spott Hogg
We paired with S&S Archery for one more giveaway, but we reserved this one just for Rok Blog subscribers.
If you were on the Rok Blog last year, you probably remember that I put the awesome Solid Broadheads to the test. While I didn’t get to punch one into the buck called Jalepeno, I did spend ample time shooting the Solids out to 90 yards. They are accurate, fly great, and certainly live up to the name “Solid”
You can check that review here
We did a giveaway then. I like these broadheads so much, I’ll be shooting them again this year so I paired up with S&S Archery to get some of these in your hands before the hunt. The Solid’s are valued at $79.99 for a box of three. We’re giving away two sets to two lucky winners.
All you have to do is check out S&S Archery’s website here
AND comment below what state and species you’ll be hunting archery in this fall (first and last name/initial). I’ll go first: Idaho, mule deer.
I’ll draw for the winner by June 23rd, so don’t delay to get entered.
You must be a Rok Blog subscriber, so if you’re not already, click on “Subscribe to blog” upper right under Fitness/Other links.
Coming up, I’ll introduce you to a new research service and help you up your game on Big Mule Deer. Stay tuned.
