So, I spent a long time & quite a bit of cash trying to get a good, practical, inexpensive sling. It seems like every one thinks their skins are worth $40 except me.

So.

Get on eBay & find yourself the cheapest 1" 'milspec' webbing you can. Any color, it's a freaking sling, don't worry about it.

Then get yourself a tube of clear bathroom sealant & a pair of ladder lock buckles.

Cut the webbing to the correct length for your sling + 4" for adjustment & melt the ends.

Coat the inside with the sealant & texture it with your finger.

There you go.

Should cost about three bucks & weight maybe 2oz.

I made one almost identical for my 17. It works well. Texturing the underside is a good idea.

Shoe Goo is good stuff to increase adhesion on slings or recoil pad contact area on shooting shirts. And if you don't use it over a few years it dries up anyway. Very similar to clear sealant but may even stick better.
